Ford Territory

The NEW TERRITORY Diesel Story.

BRAND NEW SZ TERRITORY

The SZ Territory will have the option of a Ford-Designed – and-developed 2.7L V6 High Pressure Common Rail Turbo Diesel engin that has been used in premium marques such as LandRover and Jaguar. When optioned with the diesel engine, Territory achieves outstanding fuel economy of 8.2L/100km for the RWD models and 8.8L/100km - 9.0L/100km for the AWD models. The engine reduces CO2 emissions by up to 21% compared to the 6-cylinder petrol engine on SY MKII Territory. The excellent fuel economy achieved by the new diesel engine does not compromise on Territory's renowned performance. It's strengths of power, torque and sedan-like ride and handling continue.

In addition, the 4.0L I6 petrol engine boasts fuel economy improvements and reduced CO2 emissions compared to the SY MKII Territory petrol variants. The introduction of a fuel efficient diesel engine and improvements in the petrol engine are significant achievements for the SZ Territory and will be a major contributor to its future success in the medium SUV segment

SUSTAINABILITY
The development of the SZ Territory focused on ensuring the new model provides strong fuel
economy along with an alternate fuel powertrain to reduce cost of ownership as well as the
vehicle's CO2 emissions output.

DIESEL
The new Territory 2.7L V6 Common Rail Turbo Diesel engine can only be described as premium
in quality, delivering optimal performance and efficiency for customers. The engine has been
developed by Ford at its Diesel Technology Centre. It boasts l40kW of power at 4000rpms and 440Nm of torque at 1900rpms, making it one of the top performing vehicles in the medium SUV
segment. With significantly better fuel economy (8.2L/100km on RWD diesel models) than
the petrol engine, diesel offers customers a lower cost-of-ownership alternative and, for those environmentally conscious customers, reduced CO2 emissions.

FUEL ECONOMY & CO2 EMISSIONS
The SZ Territory boasts fuel consumption figures that are amongst the lowest in the segment
with the introduction of the diesel engine. Additionally, the sophisticated and efficient 6-speed automatic transmissions, now standard across the range, assist in delivering improved fuel economy on the 4.0L Petrol I6 engine, making it one of the most fuel efficient petrol engines in the SUV Medium Segment. A,t the same time, lower CO2 emissions mean a reduced impact on the environment.

SAFETY
The SZ Territory continues to carry the maximum ANCAP 5-star safety rating across the range. In
addition to the SY MKII Territory safety features, a host of new safety features have been added so that the new Territory offers even better safety and occupant protection.

DRIVER'S KNEE AIRBAG
As part of the vehicle's Intelligent Safety System (lSS), the driver's knee airbag helps to protect
the driver's knees and lower leg areas in the event of a front/front side collision. The inflating
driver's knee airbag acts as a protection barrier between the driver and the vehicle's interior
fixtures by helping to prevent injury to the driver's knees or lower leg areas during a collision.

Emergency Brake Assist (EBA)
EBA is a vehicle safety system designed to ensure maximum braking pressure is applied in an emergency stop situation. By sensing the speed and force with which the brake pedal
is pushed, the EBA system detects if the driver is trying to execute an emergency stop. If in this situation the brake pedal is not fully applied, the system overrides and fully applies the
brakes until the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) takes over to stop the wheels from locking up. It helps reduce the likelihood of accidents - especially those associated with 'panic stops'
and the common 'nose-to-tail' accidents.

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)
with Rollover Mitigation

An SUV's higher centre of gravity can increase the risk of a rollover. In conjunction with DSC, the rollover mitigation sensors determine if a vehicle is in danger of rolling over due to extreme lateral forces and applies braking to individual wheels and reduces driving torque to help prevent a rollover and stabilise the vehicle.

Towing performance
AWD TDCi V6: Maximum towing capacity of 2700kg (braked trailer) with maximum
downward towball weight of 270kg*.

All other models: Maximum towing capacity of 2300kg (braked trailer) with a maximum
downward towball weight of 230kg*.

*Maximum towing capacity using a Genuine Ford heavy-duty tow pack with load levelling kit. To achieve maximum capacity, occupants and/or luggage may need to be restricted.
